| History of Clos St.Thomas
Clos St. Thomas is located at the far end of Qab Elias, where there is a huge Roman mural carved into the cliff celebrating the valley's fertility and its role as the Empire's bread basket and vineyard. The winery is owned by one branch of the famous arak-making Touma family. In this land full of history, Said Touma has recreated a wine temple where nature, tradition and progress literally intermingle with its nine arcades that invoke the old residence of the Lebanese Emirs of the 17th and 18th centuries. Come and enjoy the hanging gardens, the picnic areas and the village halls in the middle of the vineyards, and visit the chapel dedicated to St. Thomas. |
